Cerbo expands AI Scribe documentation tool to online visits

Cerbo AI Scribe now records conversations during Cerbo Telemedicine and Zoom virtual visits, then creates a structured note within the electronic health record. Clinicians can review, edit and sign the document before it is added to the patient's record.

- Virtual visit support is available at no additional cost to eligible Cerbo customers.
- The feature runs on Cerbo's existing HIPAA-compliant infrastructure.
Documentation goes directly into the patient record
Cerbo, an electronic health record platform developed for cash-based and personalized care practices, announced on November 3, 2026, that it was expanding AI Scribe to virtual visits. The tool follows clinical conversations during meetings held through Cerbo's own Telemedicine solution and on Zoom, then creates a structured draft note within the patient record.
The note appears only as a draft. The healthcare provider must review it, edit it if necessary and then sign it. According to the announcement, the document is not automatically added to the patient's record before that.
AI Scribe launched in August 2026 as a documentation tool built into Cerbo's electronic health record system. It requires no separate login, dictation app or copying and pasting between systems.
The same workflow in person and by video
According to Cerbo, support for virtual visits is intended to let providers focus on patients during video calls instead of spending time in a second browser tab or at the keyboard. The system creates the draft note as part of the visit, reducing the likelihood that documentation will be pushed to the end of the day.
The company links this to the common situation in which doctors complete administrative work left over from the day after office hours, sometimes in the evening. Cerbo's announcement refers to this practice using the term “pajama time,” as used by providers.
“Our goal is to remove the obstacles from a provider's day, namely the time-consuming administrative work that pulls them away from the patient in front of them,” said Nishant Phadnis, Cerbo's head of product development. He added that telehealth was the natural next step, and that providers conducting video visits deserve the same ability to focus on patients and the same reduction in documentation burden as they do in the office.
Already available to Cerbo customers
AI Scribe is currently available to Cerbo customers under Settings > AI Scribe. For users who also use Cerbo Telemedicine or the Zoom integration, support for virtual visits is included at no additional cost.
According to the announcement, the tool uses the same workflow within the patient record for both in-person and virtual visits. It operates within Cerbo's existing HIPAA-compliant infrastructure, and the provider reviews, edits and signs the note in every case.
Cerbo was founded in 2011 and is headquartered in Atlanta. The company offers independent functional, integrative, longevity, wellness, direct primary care and concierge practices a system for clinical documentation, appointment scheduling, billing and patient communication. According to the announcement, AI Scribe's expansion to telehealth gives these practices a more consistent documentation workflow, regardless of whether the visit takes place in person or by video.
