This policy describes what personal data we process when you visit the AI News Bites website at ainewsbites.com. In short: we do not request any data to read the site; there is no registration or commenting, and we do not use cookies, analytics, or advertising tracking codes. 2. What data we process

Server logs. When you open the website, your browser sends technical data that is logged by the hosting provider and content delivery network: IP address, time of the request, address of the page opened, browser type (user agent), referring page, and response status code. We do not create profiles from this data or combine it with other data.

E-mail. If you contact us, we use your e-mail address and the content of your message to respond.

3. Purposes and legal bases of processing

Server logs: operating the website securely and without errors and preventing attacks. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
E-mail correspondence: responding to your inquiry. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), or, in the case of a contractual relationship, performance of the contract (point (b)).

4. Processors and recipients

Hetzner Online GmbH (Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany): hosting provider. The data is stored in the European Union, in Germany.
Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA): content delivery and security filtering. Every request to the website passes through the Cloudflare network, so Cloudflare also sees the IP address and request data. Transfers of data to the USA take place on the basis of the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Google Ireland Ltd. (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland): your browser loads the website’s fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser data. This does not place a cookie.

We do not sell data or disclose it to third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Cookies

The website does not place cookies and does not use analytics or advertising tracking. For security reasons, Cloudflare may place a strictly necessary cookie in the event of suspicious traffic, for example for bot protection; this cannot be used to track visitors.

6. Retention period

Server logs: for the short period configured in the systems of the hosting provider and Cloudflare, after which they are automatically deleted, unless they need to be retained for further investigation of a security incident.
E-mails: until the inquiry has been resolved, or for as long as required by law or necessary to enforce a legal claim.

7. Your rights

You may request access to the data we process about you, request its rectification or erasure, request restriction of processing, request data portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interest. Send your request to [email protected]; we will respond within no more than one month.

8. Complaints

You may lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority of the country in which the data controller is established:
Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at, or with the authority in your place of residence, in Hungary the National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH), www.naih.hu. You may also bring proceedings before a court.
