DTECH 2027 will launch two new professional summits for industry leaders in Atlanta: one will address the energy needs of data centers and artificial intelligence, while the other will focus on wildfires and electric grid resilience. The programs will take place on March 4, 2027, as part of the DTECH event.

Key points
  • Two new summits will launch as part of DTECH 2027.
  • The Data Center Leadership Summit will focus on the energy needs of data centers and AI.
  • The Wildfire & Resiliency Strategy Summit will focus on wildfires and grid resilience.
  • Both programs will take place on March 4, 2027, in Atlanta.
  • Participation will be available as an ancillary program purchased alongside the DTECH registration pass.

Data centers and artificial intelligence in focus

Clarion Events North America, organizer of DTECH 2027, announced the launch of the Data Center Leadership Summit and the Wildfire & Resiliency Strategy Summit on November 3, 2026. Both events will be official ancillary programs of DTECH 2027 and can be purchased in addition to the registration pass.

The Data Center Leadership Summit will bring together leaders from utilities, energy companies, data centers, artificial intelligence companies, digital infrastructure firms, investment companies, technology providers and government organizations. The full-day, leadership-focused program will examine data center power supply, expansion and grid integration.

Planned topics include grid connections for high-load facilities, grid reliability and resilience, investment trends, community relations, emerging technologies and the future of digital infrastructure. The program will also feature executive discussions, networking opportunities and technical presentations.

The risks of wildfires and extreme weather

The Wildfire & Resiliency Strategy Summit is aimed at utility executives, emergency preparedness professionals, grid operators, reliability experts, technology providers, consultants and public-sector stakeholders.

Previously operated as a standalone reliability and resilience event, the program will address wildfire prevention, preparedness for extreme weather, situational awareness, emergency response, infrastructure hardening, operational readiness and long-term resilience plans.

According to the organizers, the program will provide a focused setting for utilities and their industry partners to share experiences and best practices. The planned agenda will offer executive perspectives, utility case studies, technical discussions and professional networking.

Why the programs are being brought together at DTECH

According to the announcement, the energy industry is being reshaped simultaneously by the rapid expansion of data centers and artificial intelligence, and by growing risks related to wildfires, extreme weather and reliability requirements. DTECH believes addressing these issues will require cooperation across multiple organizations and industries.

Wayne Bishop, DTECH's executive vice president of energy, said the industry's challenges are becoming larger, more interconnected and more consequential. According to the company's announcement, it wants to discuss the future of data centers, artificial intelligence, grid reliability, resilience and infrastructure financing within a shared framework.

Alongside the targeted discussions, attendees of both summits will have access to DTECH's broader conference program, exhibition, technology demonstrations and professional community.

Timing and significance for attendees

Both programs will take place on Thursday, March 4, 2027, from 9:15 to 17:00 in Atlanta, as part of DTECH 2027. The Data Center Leadership Summit will offer executive and technical programming on data center growth and grid modernization, while the Wildfire & Resiliency Strategy Summit will focus on resilience and reliability risks.

For attendees, the change means that professional communities focused on data center energy demand, artificial intelligence and grid risks can meet within a larger energy event. DTECH says this could provide access to broader expertise, more networking opportunities and a better understanding of the technologies shaping the industry.
