New chair and three board members appointed
Israeli publicly traded company Elron Ventures Ltd. announced changes to its board on November 3, 2026. Dan Hoz, a board member, has become interim chair. Hoz previously served as Elron's chair, giving him familiarity with the company's operations, portfolio companies and business strategy.
Hoz was previously managing director of Siemens EDA Israel and vice president of Siemens Digital Industries Software. Before that, he served as CEO of Valor. Elron said he has extensive experience leading global technology companies and directing strategic and business initiatives.
Dana Gerner, Cellebrite's former CFO, has joined the board as an external director. Gerner brings global financial experience to the company, including expertise in developing growth strategies, capital markets operations and investor relations.
Chartered accountant Ido Heller has also joined as an independent director. The former senior partner at PwC Israel worked as an audit leader and risk management leader. He is currently co-CEO of Titan Group. Attorney Yaniv Rog has also joined the board. He advises public and privately held companies, as well as owners, on legal, financial and tax matters.
Company also searching for a new CFO
According to an Elron statement, the company has made progress in selecting a new CFO and additional executive officers. The process is being led by Arieli Group, Elron's controlling shareholder, in cooperation with management.
The aim is to strengthen the company's leadership and professional capabilities and support the execution of its investment and acquisition strategy. Elron also plans to establish a strategic advisory committee to help evaluate and implement investment and acquisition opportunities.
Yaniv Shnieder, CEO of Elron Ventures and co-CEO of RDC, said: “We continue to execute our investment and M&A strategy and welcome the new board members. This further demonstrates our commitment to expanding the expertise and financial resources needed to implement our strategy.”
Program could reach $300 million over three years
Elron previously announced an investment plan to be carried out by Rafael Development Corporation Ltd., the joint venture between Elron and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems. The two companies would fund an investment commitment of up to $300 million in equal proportions over approximately three years, subject to the necessary approvals.
The acquisition strategy focuses on acquiring controlling stakes in dual-use technology companies serving both defense and civilian markets. Elron is also investing in early-stage growth companies in cybersecurity, deep tech, defense technology and artificial intelligence.
The company said this approach complements its current investment strategy, which is primarily based on exits and secondary transactions. The leadership expansion announced now directly affects Elron's investment operations rather than its users: the company wants to build up greater professional and financial capacity to identify, acquire and develop companies operating in the defense and civilian markets.
