Apple is extending its redesigned Health app to more languages, including global English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), French, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish and Vietnamese. According to Apple, the app is built with Apple Intelligence at its core and is available in the iOS 27.3 developer beta today.

Key points
  • Apple's redesigned Health app adds support for global English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), French, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish and Vietnamese.
  • New features include an Insights tab, a For You section and a Longevity tab with Health Age.
  • At-home movement evaluations use an iPhone camera and Apple Watch, and Apple says they run entirely on device with no video recorded, stored or shared.
  • The app is in the iOS 27.3 developer beta now and will arrive as a free update later this year, according to Apple.
  • Health Age requires Apple Watch, and some features require users to be 18 or older.

Wider language support for the new Health app

Apple says the redesigned Health app will now support global English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), French, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish and Vietnamese. The company says this brings personalized health insights to millions of people worldwide.

The app adapts to a person's health metrics across iPhone and iPad, according to Apple, and aims to show how to optimize the day while also offering a view of long-term wellbeing. Apple states that the app has been built to protect user data securely and privately at every step.

The redesigned app is in the iOS 27.3 developer beta now. Apple says it will reach users as a free software update later this year, and that it will keep adding support for new languages.

Insights, For You and the Longevity tab

The update brings a new Insights tab. It surfaces summaries through the day that cover heart, sleep, readiness, fitness, vitals and cycle tracking data. A separate For You section offers recommendations based on daily habits. Apple's example is guidance on adjusting a wind-down routine after several nights of interrupted sleep. The app also pairs data with educational videos and articles featuring Health app clinical experts.

A new Longevity tab analyzes longitudinal metrics across heart health, sleep, mental wellbeing, movement, metabolic health, hearing and nutrition. Its central feature is Health Age. It turns Apple Watch data, including VO 2 max, resting heart rate, sleep and heart rate variability, into a metric that reflects how a user's body is tracking relative to their chronological age.

Users can also add clinical laboratory data, such as A1c and LDL cholesterol, to build a fuller long-term picture.

At-home movement evaluations

The update also introduces at-home movement evaluations, which Apple says make physical assessments possible without specialized equipment. With an iPhone camera and Apple Watch, users can measure flexibility, strength, balance, movement mechanics and VO 2 max, receiving real-time audio and visual feedback.

Apple says the feature is powered by on-device vision-based AI models and was developed with clinical experts. According to the company, it runs entirely on device, and no video is ever recorded, stored or shared.

Availability and requirements

The redesigned Health app will be available on Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone and iPad models with the latest software. Some features are limited to iPhone, and some may not be offered in all regions or languages.

  • Health Age requires Apple Watch.
  • The VO 2 max estimation test requires Apple Watch, AirPods Pro 3, or a third-party heart rate sensing device.
  • Some features require users to be 18 or older.

For people in the newly supported languages who own compatible devices, the main practical point is timing: the beta is open to developers now, while the general release is planned for later this year. Apple has not given a more specific date in its announcement.
