WellNet Healthcare has selected EHVAhealth conversational voice AI to automate inbound provider calls across its medical, dental and vision plans. The deployment will handle eligibility, benefits, deductible, out-of-pocket and claims status inquiries alongside WellNet’s existing Five9 contact center and Salesforce CRM.

Key points
  • WellNet selected EHVAhealth to automate inbound provider calls.
  • The AI will support medical, dental and vision plans.
  • Use cases include eligibility, benefits, accumulator and claims status inquiries.
  • The deployment integrates with WellNet’s Five9 contact center and Salesforce CRM.
  • Calls can transfer to live agents with conversation context.

AI agents will handle routine provider inquiries

EHVAhealth, the health payer platform of EHVA.ai, said its conversational AI agents will manage WellNet’s inbound provider calls end to end. The system will support member eligibility verification, benefits verification, deductible and out-of-pocket accumulator balances, and claims status inquiries.

WellNet Healthcare is a third-party administrator, or TPA, serving employers through health plan administration and related services. According to EHVAhealth, provider services teams at TPAs and payers handle thousands of repetitive calls each month concerning eligibility, benefits, deductibles and claims status.

The company positions its platform for health plans, TPAs, payers and benefit administrators that need to manage high volumes of provider calls without adding headcount. WellNet is now deploying EHVAhealth across its provider services operation.

Deployment connects Five9 and Salesforce

The AI deployment will run alongside WellNet’s existing Five9 contact center and Salesforce CRM, rather than replacing those systems. When a call needs human assistance, it will be handed to a WellNet live agent with the conversation context. Call activity will also be logged back to Salesforce, giving the TPA a record of each provider interaction.

EHVAhealth said this integration is intended to let providers receive answers on the first call at any time, while WellNet’s provider services team focuses on member and client work that requires a human. The company also said TPAs and payers can automate provider calls in weeks because the platform works inside contact center and CRM tools they already use.

“At WellNet, providers and members come first, and that means answering provider questions quickly and accurately every time,” Kathy Samanns, Chief Operating Officer at WellNet Healthcare, said. She added that EHVAhealth fits into the Five9 and Salesforce tools WellNet already uses, allowing the company to deliver faster service “without disrupting how we work.”

What the agreement means for provider services

The announcement reflects a push to automate recurring administrative conversations in health plan operations while retaining a path to live support. EHVAhealth said providers can receive assistance around the clock, while call context and activity remain connected to WellNet’s existing workflows.

Jeff Schaffer, Chief Revenue Officer at EHVA.ai, said WellNet moved quickly after seeing how the technology could operate within its current systems. “Plugging into an existing contact center instead of replacing it is how we get TPAs live in weeks, not quarters,” Schaffer said.

EHVAhealth also lists prior authorization status checks among the provider-call tasks its AI agents can automate. The company says its platform integrates with contact center and CRM platforms used by health plans and runs on its own telecom infrastructure, giving TPAs and payers control over call quality, reliability and HIPAA-compliant security.

EHVAhealth is inviting TPAs and benefit administrators to call 833-419-2313 to hear the AI firsthand.
