AI assistants become an entry point for workflow design
FlowForma Process Automation is an AI-powered, no-code platform for business teams to build, run and govern workflows natively on Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online. The new capability lets users map processes from the AI assistant they already use, rather than beginning in a separate process-design environment.
Users can describe workflows such as a purchase requisition, employee onboarding or an incident report. The assistant works through the requirements, fills in gaps and sends the result to FlowForma as a working process. FlowForma says its integrations understand how process steps, forms, rules and branches fit together, allowing the assistant to ask questions similar to those asked by a business analyst.
The company's existing no-code visual flow designer remains part of the product. The conversational interface adds another way to create and modify processes, while the visual designer continues to support customers who use it directly.
Existing processes can be reviewed and rebuilt
The integrations also support optimization of processes already running in FlowForma. Users can bring a live process into a conversation, ask for changes and receive suggestions for streamlining or re-engineering it. FlowForma says modifications such as a new approval route or form field can be sent directly to FlowForma Process Automation.
The company positions this as a way to reduce the time traditionally spent on workshops, requirements documents and build work. It also points to organizations rebuilding workflows affected by Microsoft's retirement of InfoPath and SharePoint 2013 workflows. Teams can describe how those legacy processes worked and recreate them in FlowForma Process Automation.
According to FlowForma, the approach allows the people who know a process best to build or rework it directly, without a translation gap between business requirements and implementation.
FlowForma retains control of execution and governance
The AI assistant handles the conversation, while FlowForma Process Automation executes the resulting workflow. Processes, permissions and approvals continue to run inside FlowForma, with the company saying they operate securely and with full governance.
Processes and their data stay in an organization's own Microsoft 365 tenancy, because the platform runs natively on Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online. FlowForma is ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified and a Microsoft AI Cloud Partner.
“Your AI assistant is now your process designer, and FlowForma is the engine that runs it,” FlowForma CEO John Murphy said. The company says FlowForma is available now in Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot. Existing customers can contact their Account Manager, while new users can start a 30-day free trial without a credit card.
