SlidesAI gets a dedicated workspace
SlidesAI originally launched as a Google Slides add-on and later expanded with a Microsoft PowerPoint extension. According to a company announcement, the service is now also available as a standalone presentation platform with its own browser-based workspace.
The first release of the SlidesAI web application appeared in early 2026. It requires no extension to use, and users do not have to work in either Google Slides or PowerPoint. The platform brings presentation planning, content creation, design and editing together in a single workspace.
Users can start with a topic, notes or a document, then specify the audience, tone, language and number of slides. Before creating the presentation, they can review the outline, rearrange the slides and refine the content.
From content creation to editing
Once the presentation is ready, users can directly modify the text in the editor or request AI-powered changes. They can review the suggested edits and then accept them.
SlidesAI also supported the direction of its development with an onboarding survey involving the responses of more than 18 thousand new users. Roughly two-thirds of respondents identified design and visual elements as a presentation challenge, while nearly half cited the time required to create one. Participants could select multiple issues.
According to the company, these responses show that creating slide text is only one part of the work. Structuring the content, deciding on the order, determining the layout and shaping the visual presentation also require decisions. The new web workspace handles these steps in the same interface.
Templates, exports and existing integrations
For organizations that regularly create presentations, the Brand Kit feature allows them to import an existing PowerPoint template. According to the company, users can then apply their own colors, fonts, logos and layouts to generated presentations.
Completed presentations can be presented directly, shared via a link, or exported to PowerPoint or Google Slides. SlidesAI's existing integrations also remain available: users can create and refine presentations in the PowerPoint extension and directly in Google Slides.
The service also works with ChatGPT. Through it, users can create presentations in their SlidesAI accounts. SlidesAI founder Anurag Bhagsain said the company started as a Google Slides add-on, then gained its first users as a PowerPoint extension and grew to more than 12 million users. “To be honest, however, the product has outgrown that framework,” he said, according to a PR Newswire release.
What does this mean for users?
With the standalone web application, SlidesAI is no longer tied to a single presentation editor. Users can prepare and create presentations in SlidesAI's own interface while continuing to use the Google Slides and PowerPoint integrations, as well as the ChatGPT connection.
Completed materials can be used in several ways: they can be presented directly, shared via a link, or exported to either of the two supported presentation formats. The Brand Kit, meanwhile, is intended to help organizations maintain a more consistent look across recurring presentations, according to the company.
