TaxDome Lets Clients Reach Accountants Through Claude and ChatGPT
TaxDome has released a client MCP that lets taxpayers connect their account to Claude, ChatGPT or another MCP-compatible assistant and work with their accountant through plain-language requests. The company says the service is live for all firms and included with its platform at no additional cost to firms or clients.
- TaxDome released its Client MCP on Nov. 4, 2026.
- Clients can connect TaxDome to Claude, ChatGPT or another MCP-compatible assistant.
- The assistant can answer questions about documents, requests and invoices.
- Access is limited to the client's existing accounts and sign-in.
- The feature is included with TaxDome for firms and clients.
Accountant access inside an AI assistant
TaxDome, a practice management platform for accounting firms, said clients can now use their own AI assistant to ask questions such as what is outstanding or whether a return is ready. The Client MCP brings information about documents, requests and invoices into the same chat clients use for other tasks.
A single connection covers all of a client's entities. When an action requires a signature or payment, the assistant provides the exact link, which opens in the TaxDome app with one tap.
Access is limited to the client's existing view
TaxDome said the connection is scoped to the client by design. It can show only what the client already has access to through their own accounts and sign-in, and does not expose other firm data.
The company said the AI client experience is included with the TaxDome platform and does not depend on a firm's AI add-on. The Client MCP is available today for all firms through the Claude directory and the ChatGPT plugin store.
TaxDome positions the feature as an early step
Ilya Radzinsky, co-founder of TaxDome, said the company is focused on delivering the client experience through its mobile app, website and an AI assistant. “Today this is for early adopters,” Radzinsky said. He added that AI assistants and agents will become a larger part of the consumer experience, with accountants using TaxDome able to provide that access.
Ryan Bakke, CPA and founder of Tax Strategy 365, said the feature could reduce delays in receiving documents during tax season. Neil Mukhi, founder of Six10 Ventures, said he uses Claude across his company and found the exchange with his accountant easy, adding that avoiding the portal was preferable.
TaxDome said it is trusted by 15,000+ practices in 25+ countries. Its launch gives those firms a way to make selected accounting information and actions available through assistants clients already use, while keeping access tied to each client's existing permissions.
